Mumbles Pier supporting Welsh Cakes for Welsh Women’s Aid

Mumbles Pier is donating 20p from every Welsh Cake portion sold at The Beach Hut Cafe and Copperfish Restaurant to raise money for Welsh Women’s Aid, as part of the national #welshcakes for Welsh Women’s Aid campaign.

Across Wales thousands of people experience domestic abuse, sexual violence, and other forms of violence against women. For 40 years, the Welsh Women’s Aid movement has been at the forefront of supporting survivors of abuse and campaigning for change.

People across Wales are holding cake sales, each aiming to raise at least £40 for Welsh Women’s Aid. The money will help the charity continue their vital work.

“There is no one type of woman who experiences this. It’s everywhere, in every part of the community and every community.” Survivor

Eleri Butler, CEO of Welsh Women’s Aid, said:

“1 in 3 women in Wales have experienced some form of physical or sexual violence, so it is clear that the work of Welsh Women’s Aid is as vital today as it was 40 years ago.”
“We would like to thank everyone who is supporting this campaign for taking the time to raise money for – and speak out about – ending violence against women in Wales. Something that touches so many lives”
